Length of API 5CT Casing and Tubing

APT 5CT specified the requirements of Casing and Tubing for the purpose of oil or gas production, must be cased with material with sufficient strength and functionality.

Casing and tubing are the main parts of the well drilled construction. They are selected for the specific conditions anticipated in a given well. The anticipated production flow rates and economics of the well determine tubing size, which then determines the necessary size of each previous hole and tubular. Once the tubular size and setting depths are determined, the wall thickness and grade of material are then chosen by the well designer to ensure the strength is adequate for the expected loads.

The length of the oil casing pipe must be defined when the customer inquiries. As a casing tubing supplier and manufacturer,we are according with API 5CT strictly. Our all tubing meet API minimum requirements. It’s remarkable that the following requirements should be specified on the purchase order:

●The specification (API/ISO) ●Quantity ●Size designation ●Outside diameter (OD), normally in inches ●Weight designation ●Grade and type ●End finish (type of connection) Range length ●Seamless or electric weld ●Delivery date ●Shipping instructions

The price of pipe is also different as the tubing length change, so it is necessary to make the length of the pipe clear. Here we will discuss the length of API 5CT casing and tubing. Piping lengths from the factory not exactly cut to length but are normally delivered as: R1=18-22 feet =5.49-6.71m R2=27-30 feet=8.23-9.14m R3=38-45 feet=11.58-13.72m 1 ft (feet) = 0.3048 m

Range 1 from 18 to 20 ft ,Range 2 from 27 to 30 ft and Range 3 from 38-45 feet.Range 2 is normally used. Shorter tubing joints (pup joints) are available in 2-, 3-, 4-, 6-, 8-, 10-, and 12-ft lengths with a tolerance of ± 3 in. A complete set of tubing pups with the same connections as the tubing string typically is purchased for each well.
