  7. The 2nd AMI international conference on Oil & Gas Non-Metallics 2016 will take place in London at the Radisson Blu Portman Hotel from 12th-14th December 2016. There will be a Welcome Cocktail Reception and accompanying exhibition on the first evening followed by a 2-day technical programme.   While steel provides the main structural component in oil and gas equipment, pipelines and platforms, non-metallics, principally polymers, make up vital components that must be properly specified and qualified to avoid major problems and minimise risk. Typical applications of non-metallics are: composite pipes, tanks, cable insulation, seals, adhesives, coatings, insulation, packers, hoses, liners and blow out preventers.  As operating conditions change, so these components must be re-examined for performance including behaviour under high pressures at deep levels; chemical resistance on exposure to drilling fluids, sour gas and pressurised CO2; and heat stability in HPHT environments.  The supply chain must understand the quality control requirements of the industry. AMI’s Oil & Gas Non-Metallics 2016 offers a technical forum for oil and gas operators, engineers, contractors and material and equipment suppliers to debate the use of non-metallic materials in critical applications.  Participation opportunities If you would like to book a delegate place at the special early rate, exhibit or take up a unique marketing packaging with one of our sponsorship deals, please contact:  Jenny Skinner Email: js@amiplastics.com
